The Process of Disseminating Fund Data to Enhance and Maximize Your Distribution Footprint – Part 3
In previous parts of this series, we discussed managing incoming files and selecting the right destinations for your fund data. This time, we explore how Kneip disseminates your data, ensuring the format always meets the destinations’ requirements. Whether it’s Morningstar, Bloomberg, or Lipper, these requirements can change frequently. Therefore, Kneip’s Vendor Partnership Team maintains constant communication with all our destinations to ensure compliance.
By collaborating with these destinations, Kneip has automated the entire process on behalf of clients. Automation is key to ensuring timely and accurate dissemination of fund data. Implementing an automated system reduces manual errors, ensures data accuracy, and speeds up the dissemination process. Automation also ensures consistency, making sure all destinations receive the same information simultaneously.
Kneip has already done the hard part. You have provided your data in your preferred format; it has been ingested, normalized, and the outgoing files have been built for your chosen destinations. The final step is the dissemination schedule and trigger.
For all vendors, the frequency and schedule are already taken care of. However, for destination lists, this is entirely your decision, and Kneip is fully flexible. We offer anything from daily, multiple times a day, weekly, monthly, quarterly, ad-hoc, and anything in between.
In terms of triggers, Kneip always recommends disseminating a new file whenever the underlying data changes. When Dataglide recognizes a change in the data, a delta file is instantly created. Once the applicable schedule criteria, such as time, is met, your data is automatically disseminated throughout your entire distribution footprint.
Following dissemination, it’s important to monitor its reach and effectiveness. This can be done through the various reporting tools available in Dataglide. However, Kneip goes the extra mile to ensure accuracy across your distribution footprint. Find out how in our final post of this blog series!
